5th Annual Global Design-A-Sock Contest 2013: 2nd & 3rd Place Winners!
Congrats to our 2nd & 3rd Place winners, Julie and Hilary – read their bios below!
Julie is an artist and Senior Graphic Designer who currently works for Guitar Center, and has worked with several large corporations and agencies. Residing in urban sprawl of Los Angeles (Van Nuys), she lives with her husband, dogs, cats, gecko, and tortoise.
Julie can be easily found behind the computer, an easel, or drawing. When she is away from creative outlets, she can often be found riding her bicycle for many, many, many miles. Julie rides on the charity team at work, and in many events around the Southern California area.
When she isn’t on her bike, she can be found decorating cakes and making cookies.
Hilary is a freelance illustrator and cartoonist from New York, and a co-editor at political comix magazine World War 3 Illustrated.
She owes inspiration for her solar system sock design to her dad, a space scientist who studies wind patterns and calculates calendars for other planets. In the summer, Hilary likes to lie on the roof and think about being on the bottom or the side of the Earth, instead of on top.
