SITM ❤’s Mondo Guerra!

By now I’m sure you’ve all gotten a chance to check out all the great new styles Sock It to Me has in store for Fall 2012, but did you happen to notice the stripe & houndstooth knee-high?!  We love the simplicity of the black-and-white stripes mixed with the funkiness of the popular houndstooth design!

Besides the fact that it’s one of Sock It to Me’s cool, new designs for the upcoming fall season, have you heard the awesome story behind this sock?!  It is a special style designed specifically for Sock It to Me by the winner of Project Runway All-Stars – THE Mondo Guerra!

 

 

You’re probably wondering how Portland-based Sock It to Me paired up with a big time designer like Mondo, right?  Well, that’s where the marvel of modern technology comes in!  One of our fans posted a picture on Twitter of Mondo sporting Sock It to Me’s “Glasses” socks on a Project Runway episode!  Of course, we were absolutely thrilled not only to have Sock It to Me on TV but also to have our socks worn by such an amazing designer!

 

 

We immediately got on Twitter to thank Mondo, and found out that he’s a huge fan of Sock It to Me!  After a few tweets, we exchanged emails and began discussing a possible partnership.  Mondo supplied us with several possible designs, went through the entire sock-making process, anxiously awaited the samples to arrive, and – as they say – the rest is history!

It’s amazing what a little tweet can lead to, right?  We can’t thank Mondo enough for all of his support of Sock It to Me, and can’t wait to see all of our Mondo socks start flying off the shelves!
