“I am an undergraduate student at Rhode Island School of Design, getting my BFA in illustration. I also love dance, the outdoors, film, my hometown of Knoxville, TN, and my dogs. I was inspired by our visit to Scotland, especially the unique wildlife and incredible scenery of the Isle of Skye.”

– Lydia Smithey

“I don’t know how to introduce myself — as I don’t consider myself an artist. This is my first artwork I’ve created in a long time, and the Design a Sock Contest looked like a fun event to join, which made me want to begin my journey in making art again. The truth is, it never crossed my mind that I’d even be considered; I merely wanted to prove to myself that I can push myself to make something. Nevertheless, I am very happy that my work is appreciated. Also, there’s a big dog next-door who visits my home every day.”

– Jhenese Aguilan

“I’m a zookeeper, artist and a huge nerd – l’ve worked with a variety of species from tortoises and tiny tamarins to rhinos and critically endangered leopards! Animals and art are my passions and I love creating art that brings awareness to wildlife and joy to those who see it!”

– Breah Ponds
*Breah was 1st Place winner in our 2018 Design-a-Sock contest with her entry; Animals of Madagascar. Her design eventually went on to become a beloved pair of knee highs and crew socks in the Sock It to Me line.
